If you’ve ever attended G.A.M.E. EXPO before you know that you head to Gaming HQ and look for available games and sign up.  You will STILL be able to do that AT our event, but now you can ALSO register ahead of the event opening on Friday.

Go to the Gaming Schedule on our website and you will find yourself on the GrowTix page for G.A.M.E. EXPO.  On this page, you’ll see the 3 schedule days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), and all the games as they start to be submitted by Gamemasters.  Games appear once they are approved and assigned to a table.

When you see a game and click on VIEW button, you’ll see the [REGISTER FOR THIS GAME] button on the pop-up screen.  Pre-Registering before the doors open on Friday, will guarantee you get a spot at the games you want to play.

You can get into G.A.M.E. Year 10 for FREE when you pre-schedule games! Without your help in running games, we would not have a gaming convention. As our way of saying “Thanks” we offer GMs free entry!

To qualify for a Game Master Badge you must pre-schedule 40 player hours of games.  This process is explained below in the steps outlined.

Starting with Year 10 we are focusing on PLAYER HOURS as the benchmark for a free GM Badge.  Player hours represent the amount of players at your game by the length of the game planned.  This first year we will focus on what is PLANNED to happen, in years to come as we track this system, the results of actual hours played will be used to reimburse GMs or award next year’s badge.  This will mostly apply to new untested GMs.  Those of you who’ve been with us previously, will continue to earn a free badge by scheduling the minimal hours.

GM Registration Deadline is September 21, 2018.  We will be finalizing schedules and getting programs printed.  Any gaming opportunities after this date will be “pick-up games” during the 3 days of G.A.M.E.   Pick-up games do not qualify for a free GM badge.

We seem to have some confusion out there about pre-registration and at-the-door registration.

Pre-Registration was from January 2017 through September 15, 2017.  During this 9 month window you could get a WEEKEND pass for $20 (+ fees).

At-The-Door registration will open at 10AM Friday 10/6/17 and a WEEKEND pass will cost $30 (+fees).

Pre-Registration is just a way for us to get people to sign-up early and for that we give you a price-break on the Weekend Pass.

There is no difference if you get your pass early or at the door — it is the same.  Registering earlier than October, gets you a discount.

Registration is open the ENTIRE WEEKEND.   Friday 10AM to midnight // Saturday 8:30AM to midnight // Sunday 8:30AM to 4PM — See our Overview Schedule for open / close times.

You can get in ANY TIME during the weekend.  Price-per-day Pass can be found on the Registration Page.

We’ve had some confusion expressed over our statement about “No Visitor Passes” — we’ll shed some light on that.

We spend all year as volunteers preparing for G.A.M.E. EXPO and about $8,000.  We get support from sponsors and the sale of spaces for Exhibitors, BUT our biggest amount of funds that help make the event happen are INDIVIDUALS coming to G.A.M.E. EXPO.  If it weren’t for the individual person coming to game and paying for a Weekend or Day Badge, we could not continue to have this event.

In the past we’ve allowed people that were just checking us out to pop in for a bit and we asked they give a $5 donation for a 2 hour visitor pass.  The theory being that these people would upgrade to a full day pass or these people would go in to our vendors and buy something and support our vendors / exhibitors / creators / artist.

In past years experienced a HUGE amount of people that looked at the registration list and would say “Oh, $5 option?  I’ll take that!”  We’d explain it was just a 2 hour pass, and typically the response was kind of “Yah, Yah.  Here’s my $5, let me in.”   Then, numerous times we found people in G.A.M.E. that had been there … all day …. for $5.

We also did not notice people that took the cheapest rate to get in, buying stuff from vendors.  If we had seen people leaving with purchases, then we would consider a “shoppers pass.”  Generally, people that support the convention pay for a weekend / day pass and then ALSO shop with our vendors.

We don’t want to be the fun police, running around checking badges, telling people to leave — times up — get out.  We don’t have enough staff to do that, and we don’t want to be that kind of place.  We also don’t want this event to be degraded by lots of people getting in for $5 when others paid $20, $25, $30.  It’s not fair.

Also, there are no other events similar to ours where we found a visitors pass policy.  We looked around, and to get into any other event similar to ours, you pay for a day pass or a weekend pass.

So, our decision has been to get rid of this visitors pass.  Now, to end confusion, you DO NOT HAVE TO PRE-REGISTER.  You can walk up to the doors all day long and buy a weekend pass, or a day pass.  Registration is open Friday 10AM to 11:59PM, Saturday 8:30AM to 11:59PM and Sunday from 8:30AM to 4:00PM.

Hopefully this sheds some light.
